  • Ability to roll back the server state to one of the snapshots
  • LXC-based servers have constant access to the contents of the snapshots
Changing the plan and server settings
  • LXC-based servers can change all parameters in hot mode without reboot
  • KVM-based servers can change the number of processor cores and the amount of RAM with reboot; changing the disk volume is possible with the need for manual user intervention

Characteristics of virtual servers

You can choose LXC or KVM virtualization type for your virtual server. The prices for both options are the same.

If you don't know which is better for you, we recommend choosing LXC if you need Linux, and KVM if you plan to use some other system.

LXC requires less work on system administration, allows you to easily change server parameters, and consumes slightly less system resources.

In the case of LXC, you will receive a virtual server with an already installed template of one of the Linux distributions. Manual installation of the OS on a server with LXC is generally not provided.

It is also possible to choose one of several hundred pre-configured TurnKey Linux templates and get a server with the necessary application software and a panel for general system administration.

As for KVM, a more traditional scheme with the installation of the operating system is used here. At your request, we can install one of the popular Linux or FreeBSD distributions for free. We can also connect the installation disk to your virtual server and you can install the system you want yourself.

You can find more details about the features of different types of dedicated servers on the Server comparison page.
